We are thrilled to announce that three of our ministers have new or expanded roles.
Tina Wharton will now be serving as the Minister of Congregational Care. She’s not turning her back on the Children’s Ministry, of course. That will always be part of her heart. But she will primarily be focusing on building up the body of Christ at Northside, working to involve every member in meaningful service, and facilitating the elders and the other ministers in providing Spirit-led, pastoral care to the congregation.
Nicole Largent will serve as our new Children’s Minister. She has already been serving as the Associate Children’s Minister, so this work is not new to her. But her responsibilities will be expanding. And she will continue to be the Director of the Northside Preschool.
David Allen will continue preaching, of course, but his new title is Minister of the Word. That means, in addition to bringing the Word of God to our congregation through his sermons every week, David will be helping to provide spiritual resources to many of our ministries—such as Life Groups and Bible Classes—as well as to the elders and ministers.
No one could possibly handle all these new responsibilities alone, of course. The work of our ministers is not to do the work for the church but to help lead and equip the church to engage in work for the kingdom. Every Christian is a minister. We are all responsible for making sure this important work is being done well. Please volunteer for ministries you are interested in, in areas that God has gifted you in. Let’s work together to minister to one another and the world around us.
And let’s congratulate Tina, Nicole, and David, who will be working alongside all of our ministers and elders to lead and serve this Northside Family!
