Make plans to join us for “Just Mercy: Justice and the People of God,” led by David Allen, Sundays at 5 p.m. via Zoom. Advance registration required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
Micah 6:8 says, “He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
This class will ask what it means for God’s people to “do justice.” We will survey how the Bible uses the word and the concept of “justice.” We’ll look at justice and the Old Testament. We’ll hear what Jesus says about justice. We’ll focus on seeing how justice intersects with how we treat our neighbors. We will look at the why and the how of justice—why focus on justice and how to carry it out. Over the course of this class we’ll think about how justice works out in our society and we’ll think about the outcomes that will occur in our society if we pursue justice.
