When we imagine the earliest Christians, we often think of a people with a clear-eyed mission that led to their rapid expansion to the uttermost parts of the earth. But that’s not what happened. Not at first. The beginning of their story, rather, is one of entrenchment and inward focus, of fear and an unwillingness to change. God had to act. And they had decisions to make. What will it take for us, for the Northside family, to accept our calling, to participate with joy and purpose in God’s mission to the world around us?
