Northside is pleased to offer spiritual direction for anyone interested. Read on to learn more, or contact Ben Crain to set up an appointment.

Spiritual direction is a space to slow down and pay attention to your life with God. It is not counseling, therapy, or problem-solving, but a conversation rooted in prayer, listening, and trust.
Together, we pay attention to your everyday life, relationships, and experiences as places where God is already present and at work. We trust the Holy Spirit as the true guide in every session.
Ben serves as the Youth Minister at Northside and has completed the Selah Certificate in Spiritual Direction. He is passionate about helping others grow in awareness of God’s presence in everyday life.

Each session is a safe and unhurried space for you to share what is happening in your life. This might include:
As a spiritual director, I listen, ask gentle questions, and help you notice how God may be moving in your life. I do not diagnose, fix, or tell you what decisions to make, but trust God’s Spirit to guide the process.
Spiritual direction creates space for prayerful listening and discernment, and may complement counseling, pastoral care, or other forms of support. It is not intended to replace professional mental health care when needed.

Spiritual direction is for anyone who desires to:
You do not need to have everything figured out. Curiosity and openness are enough.

Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes and usually take place once a month. Meetings can happen in person or online.
The first meeting is simply a conversation to get to know each other and discern if this is a good fit.

The Prayer Ministry lifts up the needs of those who are hurting, celebrates God’s healing and blessings, and seeks a deeper walk with Jesus through Spirit-led prayer and heartfelt praise.

We believe spiritual growth happens best in the context of biblical community. Lifegroups are small communities gathering regularly to share life together and apply God’s word to our everyday situations.
