Curt grew up near Seattle and after high school went to Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas. Curt’s wife, Barry, spent her early years in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Nashville, Tennessee, and she attended Lipscomb College. Curt and Barry met in Abilene and moved nine times during Curt’s 28 years serving as an Air Force chaplain. They have two sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren.
Curt and Barry feel fortunate to have known many wonderful Christians who have encouraged them and were examples of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. That is their desire also: to be of service and to do their best to point others to Jesus, to share the love of God and to walk with fellow believers in their spiritual journey.
Their experience is that we all have some significant challenges that can cause us to falter and stumble in our spiritual lives. They hope Northside will be a place where we lift each other up, allow for honesty and openness about our struggles, and value each other in spite of our brokenness, like families do.
