Youth Ministry

Join us for Sunday classes at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday gathering at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Room.

The Northside YG (youth group) exists to provide a wecloming, fun, and loving environment that continues the spiritual development of our youth. We offer classes, small groups, service opportunities, and relationship-building activities for students in 6th–12th grades. These are often tailored for our specific middle school and high school ministries, but we enjoy a number of combined events as well.

We believe that God has gifted our young people to serve in many different ways starting right now. It is our goal to help them discover those gifts, and provide opportunities to serve others using these gifts. In doing so, they provide new life and energy to our Northside body, as well as learn how to be a healthy member of the body of Christ once they graduate from our ministry.

Come join us!

We believe the Bible is amazingly cool and invites us into a lifelong journey of discovery and transformation! We eagerly invite you to join us in this daily walk, as we seek to grow deeper in relationship with our creator.

During the school year we offer Sunday morning classes, Sunday evening small groups, and Wednesday gatherings. During the summer we have a full calendar of activities including bible studies, local outings, service opportunities, camps, and mission trips.

Current Series

Our relationships with our families can sometimes feel a little bit like a way-too-competitive game night. With our families, sometimes it’s fun . . . but other times, we might fight for first place, gang up on each other, betray each other, and walk away with frustration and hurt feelings. Families can be sources of joy and laughter but also stress and tension. But what if our families could be places where we could all help each other win?

In this series from the New Testament, we’ll look at how the earliest followers of Jesus created a new kind of community as God’s family. Through their example, we’ll learn that there is enough when we share what we have —andif there isn’t enough, God provides. We’ll also learn thatour actions can speak when words aren’t enough and that God’s love is always enough.

Join us on Sunday morning for middle school and high school classes, and then go deeper in our small groups during Sunday Chill.

Ben Crain

Youth and Young Adults Minister

Ben Crain began serving as the interim Youth Minister in August 2020, and became the full-time minister in January 2021. After a long career in Retail Management, Ben is thrilled to be working in full-time ministry, alongside the youth of Northside. Ben has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting/Drawing from Abilene Christian University. He loves incorporating his passion for art and all things visual, into his teaching of God’s word. His other interests, like Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, hiking, sports, and eating, help connect him to the youth group. Or, as some like to say, he doesn’t act or talk like someone his age. Ben takes this as a compliment. He sees the young people of Northside as a mission field, and feels called to share the love of Jesus with them, in the hope they will choose to follow Jesus and be blessed all of their days. He and his wife Rachel, have been married 21 years, and enjoy living in Bulverde with their two dogs.
